Why Do We Make It Complicated?

Posted by Paul on 04 Jan 2010 | Tagged as: Family, Friends, General, Hope, Ponderings, Writers

One of the things that I am wondering about at the present, is what to write about? What direction am I to go?

What do I have to offer in the Lord, what can I share that will exhort and encourage others? To help them in this walk called life.

How do we uncomplicate, what has been made complicated, especially when it comes to our relationship with our Father, with the Lord, we are to have a childlike faith, to trust in the Creator of heaven and earth!

That we are to walk daily in fellowship and communion with our Father, with the Lord, with the indwelling of the Holy Spirit , that we live in Christ and he lives and abides in us now, the Kingdom of God within.

I cannot live in yesterday, nor walk in tomorrow, but I can walk daily with the Lord, share his love, his peace and rest, that He gives.

We can abide in him, to be changed day by day, living a real life, in a real world, that our lives will reflect that relationship by the life we live, for our lives speak louder than our words.

If there’s one thing that I’ve learned, as I went through chemo and radiation, through surgeries, through a divorce, not by choice, is that the Father, the Lord, the Holy Spirit comforted me, gave me the strength to persevere, to not give up, to hold on to the hope, even when it appeared to be but a thread and to see the Lord bring me through it all to become stronger than I ever was before!

Yes I had my days, yes there were days I wanted to quit, to die, to give up but there was always that tug, that presence, that peace of the Lord, that pulled me through to eventually become a pen in his hand. To write from the heart, out of a relationship, out of what has become real in me.

One of the greatest legacies that I have is my children and grandchildren, they have seen their father and grandfather become stronger and take what could have destroyed him,to press in even more to the Lord and the call to write from the heart.

Hopefully to give hope to others as they are on this path called life, for there is nothing we go through, that he will not carry us through if we will allow him to.

As we walked day by day with the Father, as we are in a attitude of worship, of trust, of faith, we will look back and see that He was with us and that He uses what we have gone through to touch the lives of others.

For we share our experience, not out the theory, but out of what has been made real in our lives!

May our lives, our gifts, our talents, that he has given us reflect that reality. May it bring hope to others, to see it reflected in our lives. That it will cause others to want to know more about that peace, that rest, that comfort that we have.

New Direction For 2010

Posted by Paul on 22 Dec 2009 | Tagged as: Art, Cancer, Coffee Thoughts, Encouragement, Family, Friends, General, Hope, Ponderings, Prayer, Remembering, Writers

Hi Everyone,

Just want to let you know that beginning in January 2010 I will be concentrating more and more on writing, to share the things that have been made real in my life over these last sixty plus years, especially these last six years.

You will noticed that I have changed the title of my blog to “Write From The Heart“  to reflect more of the direction that I feel like the Father wants me to take.

The most important thing that I have learned over the last six years is how important relationship is and that is the one thing that He has made real. That He desires to  walk with us, day by day, be one with Him, with the Lord!

We indeed serve a living Saviour, a risen Lord, Jesus Christ!

My desire is to be honest, open and real, to share from the heart, hopefully that which will uplift, encourage, exhort others in this walk called life, that I will be able to share the hope, the rest, the up’s and down’s, victories and defeats, but more important, the hope that I have in the Lord Jesus Christ, in a heavenly Father, who has taken all that I have gone through, to turn me around. New doors  and new opportunities will be happening in 2010.

Thank you my many friends, for the encouragement, the reminders, and the hope you have shared with me.  I ask for your prayers as I begin this new path, that I will be sensitive to the Lord, to the Holy Spirit, to give out of what has been given too me, the hope that I have in God, that through this journey, I have never, ever been without hope!

Blessings and Merry Christmas my friends!

First Love Lost?

Posted by Paul on 09 Oct 2009 | Tagged as: Cancer, Coffee Thoughts, Divorce, Family, General, Hope, Ponderings, Remembering

Paul Pondering 1_PaintingTo abandon, to dissert, to forsake, to remove, to give up, resign, relinquish, forsake, one who quits the service without permission and in violation of his engagement!

What does this have to do with love, especially first love? Jesus makes the following statement in the book of Revelation: “But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love you had at first [you have deserted me, your first love.]“ (Revelation 2:4 – The Amplified Bible)

Charles “Chuck” Swindoll makes the following statement “…Jesus said, in effect. You left that love. You once had a love that was incorruptible, but you abandoned it. You once enjoyed a devotion that was constant, meaningful, satisfying. In fact, the warmth of your love transformed your thinking and your attitudes; it revolutionized the way you related to me, to your heavenly Father and to your brothers and sisters. But you cooled off.” (So You Want To Be Like Christ – Chapter 1 Page 7)

Sometimes it so easy to be sidetracked by the things of life, the things that we go through, that we lose sight of what it means to be in love with the Lord. We lose that passion, that hunger for the word, for the presence of the Lord. The zeal is gone and and the sad thing is, we don’t even realized it until it is almost too late.

As I look back now. I don’t regret what I have gone through because it has brought me back to the center of God’s will for my life. He has and is restoring my first love for Him. Oh, I am sure that there was a much easier path for me to have taken, but what has happen in my life, is what it took to get my attention.

That in loosing all, I have gained much. Through the trials, the surgeries, the divorce, the Lord reached out and drew me back to that first love relationship with Him, to begin to see things through His eyes. To have a new appreciation of my children, grand children, of all those in my life past and present.

As I began to focus on Him I began to see more clearly. He began to open my heart and life again, to reveal things that needed to be changed, removed. Things that hinder my relationship with Him, as well as with others.

It is so easy to take things for granted, whether it be people, things or the Lord. We become complacent in our relationships. We forget the “little” things in our relationships. The importance of the word love, or a hug or the encouragement that we give one another and then one day we wake up and wonder, what happen, how can this be?

In Revelation 2:5 we are told to remember. Think back, repent, change the inner man to meet God’s will. We are are told to remember the love, the passion that we had for the Lord. Allow the Holy Spirit to rekindle that fire, the passion for Him. To hunger after the word, the presence of the Lord.

Let us learn to dwell in that presence of the Lord. To abide in Him. That we can have an attitude of worship, of praise. That we can walk with the Lord daily in this present world. He is not a Father who is afar off. He is as close as we want Him to be. He desires our fellowship, our communion with Him. He delights, takes joy in us. He has chosen us, called us for a day such as this, that others might see the reality of the Christ within.

The Lord is calling us back, calling you, calling me, back to a place of intimacy, of a place of knowing Him, not just about Him. He is calling us back to a relationship, where He will reveal Himself to us!

He is calling us back to that First Love!

Paul

Write From The Heart!

Posted by Paul on 03 May 2009 | Tagged as: Encouragement, Family, Friends, General, Remembering, Writers

Write from the heart!

Words written from within, words from the hearts of those who have been broken, that have been crushed, that have walked the paths that others have! Hearts that have been wounded, that have been touched and have felt the grace of God, whose hearts have been mended, restored and caused to beat again. Hearts that have been healed, taught to forgive, to let go, to restore.

To cling to the master surgeon, who has removed the stony heart, the heart that was dried up, that through the new life, the blood of Christ now surges within, bringing restoration, hope, life that restores, rebuilds us. That makes us pliable in his hands, to be pens used by the Holy Spirit to express the heart of the father, that will touch those wounded in life, who are crying out, why father, why?

For it may be at a time such as this that you are called to lift your pen, your heart, to the Master Author and say, “Here I am father, here I am, use me this day, this hour, this moment to touch the heart of someone who needs hope!”

Hope that has been birthed in you!

Lift your pen, raise your brush, sing your song, be the instrument of God this day, to touch the hearts and lives of others, that they will be drawn to the father, through his son, Jesus, and know the hope, the life changing hope, of Christ within, who changes the hearts of the wounded and causes them to beat with life again!

Till later,

Paul

Reflection

Posted by Paul on 27 Apr 2009 | Tagged as: Cancer, Coffee Thoughts, Divorce, Encouragement, Family, Friends, General, Hope, Ponderings, Prayer, Remembering

“Your life was designed to be a mirror that reflects all the best things about Him to the world around you.”

I am re-reading “The Air I Breathe” by Lou Giglio and the above quote from page 19, of his book really touched my heart, opened my spirit and reminded me of the events of the last five years and how the Father has taken every bit of that which I have gone through, to reflect to others, to family, to friends, to those I meet everyday, the amazing peace, the rest, the hope that we can have, when we simply stay focused on Him.

That in the midst of the storms and in the battles of life, that we build a relationship with Him. That we can truly praise Him, that it is not simply a cliché, but a reality that is birthed within, as we yield to the Father, to the Lord and the Holy Spirit.

It is that hope that touches the lives of others because they see the reality of it in our everyday life. It is not theory, it is real, it is written on our hearts, it enables us to walk with Him, to build a relationship and intimacy with Him, with others, with family.

We are no longer what we where, we are becoming more and more like Him. As we yield to Him, we are being transformed, being changed, becoming a mirror, that reflects the Christ within.

Is it not time to reflect that reality, the reality of the Lord, not so much by words, but by the life that we live, at home, at work, in the marketplace.

Let your life reflect outwardly what the Spirit of the Lord is doing inwardly!

Till later,

Paul

My heart's cry and desire is to be that of an exhorter and encourager to others as they walk this path called life.
To let them know, that we are not a people without hope. That out strength, our hope, comes from the Lord and it is He that goes before us and prepares the way!
